Abstract
A cold electron number amplifier device can provide a greater number of electrons at lower electron emitter temperature. The cold electron number amplifier device can comprise an evacuated enclosure, a first electron emitterattached to the evacuated enclosure, and an electrically conductive second electron emitteralso attached to the evacuated enclosure. The first electron emittercan be configured to emit electronswithin the evacuated enclosure. The second electron emittercan have a voltage Vgreater than a voltage Vof the first electron emitter(V>V). The second electron emittercan be positioned to receive impinging electronsfrom the first electron emitter. Electronsfrom the first electron emittercan impart energy to electrons in the second electron emitterand cause the second electron emitterto emit more electrons
