Abstract

Therapeutic peptides having guanylyl cyclase C agonist activity are disclosed. The therapeutic peptides are analogues of theSTa peptide with non-natural amino acid, isosteric or D-amino acid substituents. The therapeutic peptides are useful in the treatment of chronic ideopathic constipation, inflammatory bowel disease, and other diseases. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising the therapeutic peptides are also disclosed.
