In a press belt (), stepped portions are formed between an outer peripheral surface of a central region (A) and outer peripheral surfaces of end-corresponding regions (B) located so as to corresponding to both ends in a lateral direction of a press roll () or a pressure shoe (), so that the end-corresponding regions have a smaller thickness than the central region. The outer peripheral surfaces of the end-corresponding regions are finished so that a processing flaw depth becomes 10 μm or less.
