Abstract

A tool bit () ready for use consists of a sintered material. It has a longitudinal axis (). At least one swarf chamber () spaced from the longitudinal axis () land extending along the longitudinal axis () is formed in the tool bit (). The tool bit () has at least one cutting edge (), which is formed in the tool bit () by grinding the already sintered tool bit (), adjoining the swarf chamber (). According to the invention the swarf chamber () is ground only partly and is otherwise unground.
