Abstract

A ceiling fan () is disclosed having a motor housing () suspended through a downrod (). An electric motor () is mounted within the housing which drives an annular array of blade irons () each having a blade () mounted thereto. Each blade has three clearance or mounting hole () and a resilient annular grommet () is positioned within each mounting hole. Each blade iron () has a blade mounting portion () with a peripheral seat ()' and three blade fasteners (). Each blade fastener is configured to pass through the fastener mounting hole and grommet. Each fastener has a neck () with an annular groove (), and a head () having a diameter larger than that of the neck. The head is positioned directly adjacent the groove so that contact between the head and the grommet forces a portion of the grommet into the annular groove.
