Abstract

Absorbent article, in particular a diaper or an incontinence product, includes an absorbent structure () including a back-sheet (), a top-sheet () and an absorbent core () there between. The absorbent structure () has a front portion () defining a front lateral edge (), a rear portion () defining a rear lateral edge () and a crotch portion () situated between the front portion and the rear portion. A pair of belt sections () is present for fastening the absorbent article to the waist of a wearer, the belt sections being fixedly attached to the rear portion of the absorbent structure. The absorbent article has a maximum lateral extension B between the respective lateral-most edges () of the belt sections that is governed by the following expression: 0.3<A/B<0.7 where A is the maximum lateral extension of the front lateral edge of the absorbent structure.
