Abstract
An ink jet printer comprising a conveyor belt unitfor transferring a print sheeton a rotating conveyor belt, a resist roller pairand a BU rollerfor feeding the print sheetwhile flexing it in the transferring direction, and first and second ink jet headfor ejecting ink toward the print sheet, wherein the ink jet headejects ink darker in color than ink ejected from the ink jet head. The ink jet headserves to eject ink, that is darker in color than that of the ink jet head, and is located at a position farther than the arriving position of the print sheetwhen the print sheetis displaced from the conveyor beltin the transferring direction as the elasticity of the print sheetdue to flexure exceeds adhesion between the print sheetand the conveyor belt, while the ink jet headis arranged between the ink jet headand the BU roller. By this configuration, print quality can be sustained with high speed printing by using an ink jet head and reduction in printer size achieved.
