Abstract
A method for determining estimated values for data symbols transmitted from at least four transmission antennas of a MIMO transmission system, which are encoded according to the Matrix B transmission mode and weighted with coefficients (v). The method including determining hypotheses ({tilde over ({right arrow over (s)}, {tilde over ({right arrow over (s)}) for the transmitted data symbols ({right arrow over (s)}, {right arrow over (s)}) from data symbols ({right arrow over (r)}, {right arrow over (r)}) received from at least two reception antennas, weighted with hypotheses ({tilde over (h)}) for the transmission factors (h) associated with a partial transmission channel, between a transmission antenna m and a reception antenna n, and with hypotheses ({tilde over (v)}) for the coefficients (v), determining a metric for each hypothesis ({tilde over ({right arrow over (s)}, {tilde over ({right arrow over (s)}) associated with at least one transmitted data symbol ({right arrow over (s)}, {right arrow over (s)}) and determining the estimated value ({tilde over ({right arrow over (s)}, {tilde over ({right arrow over (s)}) for the respective, transmitted data symbol ({right arrow over (s)}, {right arrow over (s)}) from the lowest metric associated with each hypothesis ({circumflex over ({right arrow over (s)}, {circumflex over ({right arrow over (s)}).
