The fluidic systemof the preferred embodiment includes a sheath pumpto pump sheath fluidfrom a sheath containerthrough a sample portinto an interrogation zoneand a waste pumpto pump the sheath fluidand a sample fluidas waste fluidfrom the interrogation zoneinto a waste container, and a processorto calculate a time window based on the flow rate of the sample fluid.
