Abstract
A method for image reconstruction using projection data obtained by an asymmetric detector includes dividing the projection data into Regions, and. Regionis an asymmetric region having detecting channels but no detecting channels symmetrical about a central channel. Regionis a transition region having detecting channels and there are detecting channels symmetrical about the central channel. Regionis a symmetric region having detecting channels and there are detecting channels symmetrical about the central channel. Regionis a transition region having detecting channels and there are detecting channels symmetrical about the central channel. Regionis a truncated region where there is no detecting channel. The method includes performing a view angle weighting on projection data in each of the five regions, and reconstructing a tomographic image of an irradiated subject from the weighted projection data.
