Abstract

An automotive lighting system () is described with a signal emitting device () installed in a lamp socket (). The lamp socket () is connected to a lighting connection () of a vehicle (). The signal emitting device () emits a signal if the lighting connection () is energized. A lighting module () is connected to an electrical power supply () of the vehicle (). The lighting module () comprises a receiver (), a control unit () and a light source (). The control unit () is disposed to operate the light source () in a first mode if a signal is received in the receiver, and in a second mode if the signal is not received.
