Abstract

A system for providing communication between one or more clients () and one or more service providers () is disclosed. The system comprises an access gateway () for maintaining transport-specific connections for one or more connections between the client () and the access gateway (), an application level router () for routing messages between clients () and service providers (), an authentication provider () for verifying the identity of users of clients (), and a look-up service () for keeping a registry of currently available services. Various methods related to the system are also disclosed.
