Abstract
A flexible mandrelhas a plurality of flexible elementsextending between two spaced flanges. A means for adjusting the radial position of each of the flexible elementsalong the length of the mandrelbetween the flangesenables the plurality of flexible elementsto be configured in a variety of symmetrical and asymmetrical forms. Conventional composite fiber or tape laying techniques may then be used to form one-piece, revolute, composite components. The flexible mandrelcan then be collapsed and withdrawn from the interior volumeof the formed component.
