Abstract
There are provided a hinge unit and portable terminal, even when a display housing is inverted to respond to demands for thin and light weight structure and high design quality, its display housing is always in a proper position. The display housinghas a display deviceat its display housing front. The display deviceis made up of, for example, a liquid crystal display device and performs predetermined displaying. The shaft fitting sectionis fitted in an end terminal region of one side of the display housing. A shaftis inserted into the shaft fitting sectionto support the display housingin a manner to be freely inverted and fitted to the shaft fitting sectionso that an axial center of the inverting axis forms a predetermined angle with a display surface of the display device
