Abstract

The present invention provides a method of producing a polarizing film having excellent optical characteristics. The method of producing a polarizing film of the present invention includes: forming a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin layeron a thermoplastic resin substrateto produce a laminate; dyeing the polyvinyl alcohol-based resin layerof the laminatewith iodine; stretching the laminate; and covering, after the dyeing and the stretching, a surface of the polyvinyl alcohol-based resin layerof the laminatewith a cover film having a moisture permeability of 100 g/m·24 h or less, followed by heating of the laminateunder the state.
