Abstract
Parallel coherent light from the laseris irradiated through the light bending deviceonto the hologram recording mediumhaving a hologram image of a scatter plate recorded, and a hologram reproduction real imageof the scatter plate is generated using the parallel light flux LL as illumination light for reproduction. The spatial light modulatorcomposed of a liquid crystal display, etc., is disposed so as to overlap on the position of the hologram reproduction real image, thereby obtaining a modulated image on a surface of the reproduction real imageof the scatter plate. The modulated image is projected onto the screenby the projection optical system. The light bending deviceis composed of a diffraction grating in which the pitch and direction of the grating lines are changed in terms of time, wherein the irradiation angle of the parallel light flux LL is changed in terms of time, and the illumination light beam scans on the screen. The scanning speed is caused to become 200 mm/sec or more, and the distribution angle of incident light θ incident into point Qis caused to become 0.4 degrees or more.
