Abstract

The invention relates to a receptacle () for receiving a phosphor storage plate () comprising a phosphor storage layer () for storing X-ray information. Said receptacle () comprises a cover plate () with a first recess () and a base plate () which is at a distance from the cover plate () such that a receiving chamber () for receiving the phosphor storage plate () is arranged between the base plate () and the cover plate (). Said phosphor storage plate () is maintained in the receiving chamber () between the cover plate () and the base plate (). The first recess () of the cover plate () is above the surface of the phosphor storage layer () of the received phosphor storage plate () when the phosphor storage plate () is received.
