Abstract
An infrared detectorhaving a bolometer elementand a reference elementis provided with a bolometer thin filmsupported on a surface of a substratewhile spaced apart from the surface of the substrate, a metal filmfor heat dissipation formed on a surface of the bolometer thin filmvia an insulating film, wherein the surface of the bolometer thin filmfaces the substrate, and a plurality of metal columnsconnected thermally with the metal filmfor heat dissipation and the substrate. Since heat generated from a photodetecting portionby infrared rays is efficiently dissipated to the substratevia the insulating film, the metal filmfor heat dissipation, the metal columns, and a metal filmfor heat dissipation on the side of the substrate, only temperature variation caused by variation in use environment can be measured accurately, and downsizing can be achieved while reducing the influence of temperature variation in use environment.
