This invention relates to methods for producing cycloheptatriene from at least 7,7-dichloronorcarane and a liquid component comprising a Cto Csuccinic anhydride, a carboxylic acid, or a Cto Calkyldimethylamine at about 205 deg. C. to about 230 deg. C.
