Abstract

A cable gland () for a shielded cable (), including a threaded sleeve (), a clamping insert () that engages therein, and a union nut () or pressure screw in the usual manner. The union nut or pressure screw act axially and radially upon an area of the clamping insert () protruding beyond the threaded sleeve () and radially deforms the clamping area or the clamping finger () of the clamping insert. The threaded sleeve () contains a contact device () having one or more contact fingers (), which lie against the shielding of the cable () in a contacting manner in the working position. The contact device () includes a carrier or ring () that is arranged in the threaded sleeve () in the working position and that has the one or more resilient contact fingers (), wherein the contact fingers () each have a deformable protrusion () adjacent to the carrier or ring () of the contact fingers in the axial direction, the deformable protrusion having a convex curvature or rectangular shape in the longitudinal section in the initial position, and in continuation thereof after a corresponding bend, the contact fingers extend approximately in the orientation direction of the cable (), thus in the relative insertion direction of the cable.
