Abstract
A lubricant containing a compound of the formula (I) wherein n is substantially 2, 3 or 4, R is Cfluoroalkyl and Rf is —CFO(CFCFO)(CFO)CF— or —CFCFO(CFCFCFO)CFCF— in which x, y and z are each 0 or a positive real number to give a number average molecular weight of 500 to 2000 to a fluoropolyether of the formula HOCH—Rf—CHOH including said Rf, the fluoropolyether having a molecular weight distribution (PD, weight average molecular weight/number average molecular weight) of 1.0 to 1.5.
