Abstract
A lithium ion secondary battery capable of charging in 15 minutes or less has a cathode with a composite layer on a surface of a collector having an active material and a conducting agent, an anode with an active material, an insulator between the cathode and anode, and an electrolyte with lithium ions. The cathode active material is represented by LiMPO, where M is a metal atom and 0<x<2 and the conducting agent contains particles between 3 μm and 12 μm in size and in an amount of 1% or more by weight.
