Abstract

An osteosynthesis plate is described, which is suitable for treating jaw fractures. The osteosynthesis plate has a plane of the plate as well as two plate sectionswith associated longitudinal axesextending substantially within the plane of the plate and inclined or staggered with respect to one another. Through openingsinclined to the plane of the plate are formed in each of the two plate sections. The angular alignments of the through openingswithin the plane of the plate differ with respect to a longitudinal axisserving as reference line from one another by less than approximately 60°. In applications in the jaw region this slight deviation of the angular alignments permits an intraoral securement of the osteosynthesis plate. A transbuccal access through the cheek can thus be dispensed with.
