Abstract
A fluorinated composition includes: a polyfluoropolyether silane represented by the formula:RO(CF(CF)CFO)CF(CF)CHOZSi(Y); anda polyfluoropolyether silane represented by the formula:R[RCHOZSi(Y)]Rrepresents a perfluoroalkyl group having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms, optionally substituted with at least one catenated oxygen atom or —NR— group, wherein Rrepresents a perfluoroalkyl group; Zrepresents —RSR—, —RS(═O)R—, or —RS(═O)R, wherein Rand Rindependently represent alkylene groups having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms; each Yindependently represents a hydrolyzable group; and p is a number in a range of from 3 to 50; Zindependently represents —RSR—, —RS(═O)R—, or —RS(═O)R, wherein Rand Rindependently represent alkylene groups having from 1 to 12 carbon atoms; Yindependently represents a hydrolyzable group; Rrepresents a perfluoroalkylene group having at least 3 carbon atoms, optionally substituted with at least one catenated oxygen atom or —NR— group, wherein Rrepresents a perfluoroalkyl group; Rindependently represents a covalent bond, or —(OR)—, and wherein Rindependently represents a branched perfluoroalkylene group, and b independently represents a number greater than or equal to one.
