Abstract

A high transmittance glass includes: SiOin the range of 65 to 75 weight percent; NaO in the range of 10 to 20 weight percent; CaO in the range of 5 to 15 weight percent; MgO in the range of 0 to 5 weight percent; AlOin the range of 0 to 5 weight percent; KO in the range of 0 to 5 weight percent; MnOin the range of 0.035 to 0.6 weight percent; FeO in the range of 0.0010 to 0.0030 weight percent; and FeO(total iron) in the range of 0.001 to 0.03 weight percent. The glass has a redox ratio in the range of 0.1 to 0.4.
