Abstract
A propeller drive assembly, for steering and driving a ship (), comprises a drive motor () and a transmission housing () secured to a ship hull and a control housing () secured to an exterior surface of the hull. The control housing () comprises a propeller () supported on a driven shaft () and the control housing () is pivotably coupled, via a steering shaft (), to the transmission housing () for steering the ship (). A transmission output shaft () is connected with the driven shaft () and a lubricant circuit of the transmission housing () is separate from a lubricant circuit of the control housing (). At least one sealing element is provided, in a region of a shaft passage of the transmission output shaft () and in a region of a shaft passage of the steering shaft (), for mutually sealing the transmission housing lubricant circuit and the control housing lubricant circuit.
