Abstract
A manually operated hammer drill () includes a spindle () that drives a chuck () in a rotary manner about an axis of rotation () in a drilling mode, and includes a pneumatic hammer mechanism (), that hammers against a tool inserted in the chuck () in a hammer mode. The hammer mechanism () has a piston () which performs reciprocating movements () parallel to the axis of rotation () in a cylinder () conformed inside the spindle () when hammer mode is activated. The piston () has at least one radial groove () in which an annular seal () is arranged.
