Abstract

A process for hydrogenating highly unsaturated hydrocarbons to less unsaturated hydrocarbons wherein production of saturated hydrocarbons is minimized. The process utilizes catalyst including CeO, MgO, and an inorganic support, and optionally palladium, optionally silver, and/or an optional alkali metal.
