The invention relates to an immersion liquid including at least one compound of the general formula I in which Rand Reach include at least one ring structure and X denotes: O, S, NRwith Rselected from hydrogen or hydrocarbon, wherein Y denotes independently of each other O, S or NRwith Rselected from hydrogen or hydrocarbon. In addition, the invention relates to a further immersion liquid, a compound for an immersion liquid and a use of the immersion liquids or of the compound as an immersion oil for a microscope, in particular for a near-field microscope.
