Abstract
A toggle type hinge () has a damper assembly mounted on the flange () of its hinge cup. The damper assembly provides a damping resistance to the closing movement of the hinge over its final stage. The damper assembly includes: a sleeve () which houses a linear damper. The sleeve () is mounted on a groove () on the hinge cup flange () and is held in position by a holder (). A wing () on the sleeve () is arranged to come into engagement with an arm () of the hinge, causing the sleeve to rotate about its longitudinal axis (). A cam arrangement () between the hinge cup flange () and the sleeve () causes the sleeve to move along its axis () as it rotates. The axial movement of the sleeve () causes compression of the damper.
