Abstract
Disclosed is a coating die which can recover a coating solution to be wasted in a good manner, while suppressing adhesion of foreign matter onto an object to be coated. A coating apparatus comprising the coating die is also disclosed. Specifically disclosed is a coating die () for coating a web () with a paste (), which comprises a main body () having a discharge opening () for discharging the paste () upwardly, a recovery pan () for recovering the paste () flowing out from the discharge opening (), and flow passage (grooves () and shoots ()) which are integrally formed with the main body () for the purpose of guiding the paste () from the discharge opening () to the recovery pan ().
