Abstract

The zoom lens is configured having, in order from an object, a first lens group (G) having positive refractive power, a second lens group (G) having negative refractive power, a third lens group (G) having positive refractive power, and a fourth lens group (G) having positive refractive power. The distance between each lens group is changed upon zooming from a wide-angle end state to a telephoto end state, the third lens group (G) has, in order from the object, a thirty first lens group (G) having positive refractive power (positive lens group), and a thirty second lens group (G) having negative refractive power (negative lens group), the thirty second lens group (G) is moved so as to have components orthogonal to the optical axis, and the condition of the expression 2.6<|X|/fw<8.0 is satisfied, where Xdenotes a moving distance of the first lens group (G) upon zooming from the wide-angle end state to the telephoto end state, and fw denotes a focal length of the zoom lens in the wide-angle end state.
