Abstract

The invention relates to matrix image sensors, and more particularly to a method for correcting the spatial noise caused by the dispersion of the physical properties of the various pixels of the matrix. According to the invention, a signal X(L) is established pixel by pixel that corresponds to the illumination of a pixel Pby a luminance L; a fixed reference Kis defined for this signal, the value Kbeing chosen such that, for a given luminance L, the pixels all supply an identical signal X(L) that is equal to K; and a corrected signal X*(L) is established by applying to the duly referenced signal X(L)−Ka multiplying correcting coefficient specific to the pixel concerned, the correcting coefficient being determined from the signal X(Lr) supplied by the pixel Pfor a determined reference luminance Lr which is the same for all the pixels. The correcting coefficient is preferably stored in an initialization register REGspecific to the pixel, which contains a value dTfor modulating the integration time of a counting frequency representing the luminance.
