Abstract
An error correction circuitin accordance with an aspect of the invention includes an associative memory, a logic circuitdisposed in parallel with the associative memory, and selection unitthat receives an output signal from the associative memoryand an output signal from the logic circuitas an input. The associative memoryincludes a table that handles an input signal as a word and holds an output signal related to the word and an error correction code used to correct the output signal as data. The associative memoryfurther includes error correction unit that outputs a signal in which an error was corrected based on data related to a word corresponding to an input signal. The selection unitselects and outputs one of an output signal from the associative memoryand an output signal from the logic circuit
