Abstract

An ink composition for ink jet recording with excellent ink storage stability, which makes it possible to solve the problems concerning blurring or strike through and perform printing with high density and high image quality, is provided. An ink jet recording method which makes it possible to carry out printing with high density and image quality while causing little strike through, using the ink composition, is also provided. The ink composition for ink jet recording, contains at least water, a coloring material, a block polymer that has an ethylene oxide moiety and a propylene oxide moiety, and is gelled at 50° C. or higher and 150° C. or lower, and a polymer latex.
