Abstract

A circuit breaker includes several elementary circuit breakers () arranged as several segments (), each suitable for powering several independent loads (). These provisions make it possible to improve the thermal equilibrium on each segment by distributing the heating over all the segments. The segmental circuit breakers are more particularly suitable for multi-wire networks which power a single load through a multitude of wires of the network in parallel.
