The invention pertains to novel oligofunctional photoinitiators of the formula (1) or (1A). Rand Rare methyl or together are —(CH)—; and n is 2 or 3, and the solvent in (1A) is water or an organic solvent; and their use in photopolymerizable compositions, in particular inks.
