Abstract
A catheter () for insertion into a human and/or animal hollow organ, comprising a catheter shaft () with a lumen (), which opens into a front opening at a distal end () of the catheter shaft (), wherein the catheter shaft () has at least a first lateral opening () that is at a distance from the distal end () and opens into the lumen (), is distinguished by virtue of the fact that there is at least a first insertion device (), arranged on an external side () of the catheter shaft () in a region of the first lateral opening (), for a wire-like element () that should be inserted into the first lateral opening () from the outside.
