Abstract

A hot cathode fluorescent lamp () of small diameter is described comprising a shield () around the cathode () to avoid the formation of blackenings on the phosphors due to evaporated material and a mercury filiform mercury dispenser () fixed by a metallic part () to the front part of the shield, in such a geometry that said dispenser is turned towards the opposite end of the lamp and its axis is essentially parallel to the axis of the lamp.
