Abstract

Subterranean treatment fluids comprising one or more organic acids and methods of use in subterranean operations are provided. In one embodiment, the methods comprise: providing a treatment fluid that comprises an aqueous base fluid, a gelling agent, and one or more organic acids; and contacting a subterranean formation with the treatment fluid at or above a pressure sufficient to create or enhance one or more fractures in a portion of the subterranean formation.
