Abstract
A developing deviceincludes a developer collecting guide memberfor carrying a residual developer on the surface of a developing rollerin a direction from the developing rollerto a carrying member, the developer collecting guide memberincluding (i) a first inclined planethat guides the residual developer to a position in a carrying path P which position is between a first side walland a rotary shaft of the carrying memberand (ii) a second inclined planewhich has a smaller angle of inclination than the first inclined planeand guides the residual developer to the carrying path P, the second inclined planehaving an end section present downstream in a developer guiding direction, the end section reaching a position between the side walland the rotary shaft, and tapering in area to the end section.
