Abstract

An electric-field-sensitive element () includes: an optical function layer () that includes a metal oxide selected from the group consisting of tin dioxide, titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, and an insulating material covering the metal oxide, the optical function layer () having a visible light transmittance that changes through application of an electric field; and a first and second electrode layer () that sandwich the optical function layer () therebetween.
