Abstract

The present invention provides a projection display device configured to solve a caption dropout problem. CPUdetermines a correction amount required to correct an image signal for distortion. Scalercorrects the image signal for distortion based on the correction amount. Caption signal processing circuitadjusts the display content of a caption signal based on the correction amount in such a manner that the entire caption indicated by the caption signal is displayed. Display image generation circuitsynthesizes the caption signal with the display content thereof adjusted by caption signal processing circuit, with the image signal corrected by scaler. Projection sectionprojects the synthesized image signal.
