Abstract
Disclosed are compounds obtained by reacting (a) epoxides (I) which comprise at least two epoxide groups per molecule, with (b) compounds of the structure (II), having substituents as defined, and (c) optionally, alcohols (III) of the formula R—OH, wherein Ris C6-C22 alkyl, with the proviso that the molar ratio of the reactants (I):(II):(III) is in the range from 1:(1 to 3):(0.05 to 1.95). These compounds are useful as thickeners, and may be prepared as thickener concentrates.
