Abstract
A liquid crystal compound having a high stability to heat, light or the like, a high clearing point, a low minimum temperature of a liquid crystal phase, a small viscosity, a suitable optical anisotropy, a large negative dielectric anisotropy, a suitable elastic constant and an excellent compatibility with other liquid crystal compounds, and a liquid crystal composition including this compound, and a liquid crystal display device containing this composition. A compound represented by formula (1-1). In the formula, for example, Rand Rare alkyl having 1 to 10 carbons or alkoxy having 1 to 9 carbons; ring Aand ring Aare 1,4-cyclohexylene, 1,4-phenylene or 2,3-difluoro-1,4-phenylene; Zand Zare a single bond or —(CH)—; >W—W— and >W—W— are >CH—CH— or >C═CH—; and m and n are 0, 1 or 2, and the sum of m and n is 1 or 2.
