Abstract

Provided is a playback device which is capable of correctly determining a construction status of a virtual package. An access is attempted to a state signaling file recorded in a local storage using a fixed address on a virtual file system assigned by merge management information (step S). The virtual package construction status is determined according to failure or success of the attempted access.
