Abstract
A parallel gear unit () for a gearbox () for a wind turbine includes at least a low speed shaft () and a high speed shaft (), each shaft () having a gear () with helical teeth, the gears () of each shaft () being adapted for meshing with each other. The low speed shaft () is rotatably supported by roller bearings () and the high speed shaft () is rotatably supported by sliding bearings ().
