Abstract
A transformer includes: a core assemblycomposed of a pair of E-shaped coreseach having two side leg portionsand a central leg portiontherebetween, end surfaces of the central leg portionsand end surfaces of the side leg portionsof the E-shaped coresoppose each other, respectively, and a gap G is provided between at least the end surfaces of the central leg portions; a primary coil Nformed by winding round wire around a perimeter of the central leg portion; and a secondary coil Nformed by winding rectangular wire around a perimeter of the central leg portionby edgewise winding, wherein a space for reducing leakage flux from the gap G that acts on the secondary coil Nis provided between the secondary coil Nand the gap G.
