Abstract

A vehicle body () comprising an inner shell (), an outer shell (), a floor plate and a chassis, wherein the inner shell (), the outer shell () and the floor plate are indirectly or directly interconnected and form a passenger compartment, the rigidity, especially the torsional rigidity and/or the flexural rigidity, of the vehicle body () is to be ensured without additional components or process steps. Furthermore, the vehicle body () is to be inexpensive to manufacture. The foregoing is achieved by the fact that at least one interior component () is connected to the inner shell () and/or the supporting structure () in such a manner that it contributes to the rigidity, especially the torsional rigidity and/or the flexural rigidity, of the vehicle body ().
