Abstract
The image display system comprises laser light source units (to) for emitting green, red and blue laser beams, a laser output control unit () and a drive control unit (). Upon detecting an overlapping in the output timing of the laser beams of two or more of the laser light source units, the drive control unit ceases the application of the drive current to at least one of the two or more laser light source units according to the output control signal.
